our story so far.

We solve real problems for our clients every day, and unlocking their growth is the job. What we learn on that work shapes the tools we build for ourselves, and once they make our work more efficient we open them up so more businesses can use them.

2020
We start the business, working remotely. Our first client comes on board, and we work pro bono to test our processes and systems.
2022
We win our first blue chip client and take a virtual office in Sandton.
2023
We move into our offices in Midrand and hire our first group of employees.
First tool: the Tax Calculator, built to work out wear and tear for clients' SARS submissions.
2024
Our first joint venture lets us value the investments of the biggest asset manager in South Africa.
2025
With a track record behind us and our Friends of Onyx specialists alongside, we start bidding for bigger work.
Second tool: the Financial Model, which supports our capital raising and business plan work. Now it's open to you.
2026
MyLefa: will preparation goes from 2 to 3 days down to about 40 minutes.
BidReady: compiling a tender bid goes from 2 to 3 weeks down to about 4 hours.

What does Onyx do?

We help businesses get access to money and markets, through Advisory, Accounting & Tax, and Legal. You deal with one team for all three.

Do I need to be an Onyx client to use the tools?

No. Anyone can use them. The Financial Model needs no account. You only sign in when a tool has to keep your documents safe, like BidReady. If you'd like a person to work alongside you, you can add one of our team.

Is my information safe?

Yes. Anything you send us through this website is stored privately and handled in line with POPIA. Read our privacy notice.
